Our reclaimed pine is carefully hand-picked by the wood specialists at Willow & Kole, chosen for its character, history, and individuality. We love wood and believe every piece has its own story to tell, which is why you’ll see knots, cracks, dents, saw marks, old nail holes, scuffs, and traces of aged paint or rust throughout the timber. These natural imperfections are what give reclaimed wood its charm and make every item completely unique.

Because reclaimed wood is a natural material, you should expect to see slight unevenness, dips, bumps, and variations across the surface. Our furniture is handmade one piece at a time — not mass-produced or machine-made like flatpack furniture — so you won’t find perfectly identical lines, completely level surfaces, or factory-style symmetry. Instead, you’re receiving a handcrafted piece made by professional carpentry experts, where skill, craftsmanship, and individuality are valued far more than machine-made perfection. We believe these imperfections are what make each piece special, adding warmth, character, and authenticity that simply can’t be recreated with manufactured furniture.

We intentionally showcase the grain, texture, knots, and markings within the wood rather than hide them, as these details are part of the beauty of reclaimed timber. Due to these natural characteristics, delicate items such as tall wine glasses may not sit perfectly flat in every area, so we recommend using coasters where needed.

As real wood settles into its new environment, small amounts of movement can happen over time depending on temperature and humidity levels within your home. You may notice tiny gaps between planks or small cracks that naturally open and close with seasonal changes. In some cases, this movement may also cause a slight wobble, which can usually be corrected easily with a small felt pad under one of the legs.

No two pieces of reclaimed wood are ever the same, so variations in colour, grain, and texture are completely normal and should be expected. Photos shown on our website are intended as a guide only, and finishes may vary slightly in person. If you would like to match the finish of a previous order, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.

If you decide the character of the reclaimed wood isn’t quite right for you, we’re happy to accept returns and offer a full refund. Items must be returned within 14 days of delivery, securely packaged and insured, at your own expense. Please package returns carefully, as we’re unable to refund items that are damaged during transit back to us.
